Verdict

TENNIEL (6) scored on a heavy track over 1890m at Newcastle when coming off a forty-seven-day break two starts back. A bit plain last start at Canterbury on top of the ground but she comes right into contention with a wet track forecast. SWELTER (7) was thrown in the deep end by Waller last start and she did a good job to pass half the field in the straight in the Group 3 Adrian Knox over 2000m. Back in grade and on face value looks the one to beat - a track with give is the only concern. ROTAGILLA (9) was doing his best work late when fourth over the mile at Gosford recently. Looking for this trip now and won't mind getting the toe in. The consistent GOLDEN SMILE (8) grabbed a long overdue maiden win at Newcastle last start. Loves it wet and should give them something to catch. LUGARNO (5) is very fit and drops in grade. Good each-way chance.
