The revamped Dancing On Ice is back on our screens after a four-year absence but who will get their skates on and melt the hearts of the four judges and millions of viewers to win the TV reality show?

Sunday night saw six of the 12 contestants in action and already Jake Quickenden is the early favourite at 2/1 to be crowned Ice King.

The 29-year-old from Scunthorpe has plenty of reality show experience with two appearances on X Factor in 2012 and 2014, additionally finishing runner-up on I’m A Celebrity four years ago.

A reality show pro he may be, but Quickenden was not slow to win the approval of judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Jason Gardiner with an opening routine which scored 20.5 points with partner Vaness Bauer.

But in the Dancing On Ice betting odds, we think Kem Cetinay looks better value at 13/2 after scoring the same number of points.

Cetinay broke up with fellow Love Island winner Amber Davies recently, but that cut no ice with the ex-hairdresser whose confident display with Alex Murphy also proved a hit with the panel and the public.

Banjo said: “You’re one of the only people tonight to look really comfortable, at home on the ice.”

Track athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton was not far behind with 20 points after an impressive routine, although forgetting Jason Gardiner’s name in the post-dance interviews won’t have helped her cause!

One contestant already under the cosh is 2016 Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown, who scored just 13 from a possible 40 and faces an elimination skate-off next week.

At 40/1, the baker looks undercooked although she accepts nerves got the better of her in the opening weekend.

The six who did not compete on Sunday took part in a group dance and Cheryl Baker was singled out for criticism by Gardiner, who said the Bucks Fizz singer must break the ice and show more confidence before Sunday.

He said: “You’re frightened. It was written all over your face and in your body. Conquer the fear of the ice and the fear of falling, that is going to be your biggest problem to overcome.”

Baker is 66/1 and probably one to avoid.

Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster in Coronation Street, is the shortest price of those yet to go through a routine at 5/1, with former Scotland rugby union international Max Evans just behind at 6/1.
