Chelsea vs Arsenal Predictions

Here are our best Chelsea vs Arsenal betting tips and we have dozens of other markets available for Wednesday’s game.

The lowdown

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel remains grateful for possessing such a deep squad which he utilised by making five changes for the clash with City, who would have won the Premier League title with a victory at the Etihad.

With an FA Cup final to come against Leicester on Saturday, the German may still have to rotate his squad with Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell amongst the players to be rested on Saturday.

Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta probably had the Chelsea game in mind when he left Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Thomas Partey and Alexandre Lacazette on the bench for the 3-1 win against West Brom, although the first two may have paid the price for Arsenal’s Europa League exit at the hands of Villarreal.

Arsenal have won the last two clashes with their London rivals, prevailing 3-1 at the Emirates earlier in the season five months after an Aubameyang double helped secure a comeback win in the FA Cup final.

Before that, a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge came despite the 26th-minute dismissal of former Blues defender David Luiz, so Arsenal’s recent record against Chelsea has been good.

However, Tuchel’s expensively-assembled troops have been picking up momentum lately and it’s hard to imagine the Gunners dismantling Atletico and Real Madrid the way Chelsea did in the Champions League.

The last five games have involved goals at both ends but the Blues have one of the meanest defences in Europe, so a home win and under 3.5 goals at 6/5 kicks off our Chelsea vs Arsenal betting tips.

First goalscorer tips

Timo Werner is the 4/1 favourite to open the scoring of those likely to start but he has been more of a provider this season with eight assists, so we favour Havertz to break the deadlock at 17/4.

The German is gradually starting to repay his £70million transfer fee and he could have had a hat-trick against Real Madrid to add to the two goals he scored against Fulham.

Anytime goalscorer tips

Jorginho has scored in his last two Premier League appearances against Arsenal, so 19/4 catches the eye in the anytime goalscorer odds.

The Italy midfielder scored a late equaliser in a 2-1 win at the Emirates and 13 months later netted from the penalty spot in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Despite not scoring in the last two months, Jorginho has seven goals in all competitions and he remains the club’s penalty taker so he looks good value should the Blues be awarded a spot-kick.

Where the game will be won or lost

The Blues have kept the joint highest number of clean sheets in the Premier League this season and they have not conceded in seven of their last eight games at Stamford Bridge.

The one blemish on their scorecard was the 5-2 defeat by West Brom which is now looking like an aberration, so a win to nil looks a possibility at 9/5 but instead we’re looking at the corners market for the next of our Chelsea vs Arsenal betting tips.

Tuchel’s side have hardly been prolific in this area in the last four matches, earning a combined five in their last three games against Manchester City, Fulham and West Ham while they failed to get one during the goalless draw with Brighton.

With that in mind, Chelsea look good value at 6/4 to be awarded under 4.5 corners.

The last of our selections involves Mount, who is likely to return to the starting line-up on Wednesday and looks an interesting option at 7/1 to outscore the Gunners.

Arsenal failed to break down Everton and Villarreal in their last five games, so Chelsea should prove a much harder nut to crack.

Mount, refreshed after being rested for the win at City, needs one more goal to take him into double figures in all competitions and taking 2.2 shots per game on average in the Premier League he should get the opportunities to add to that tally.
