Manchester United already have one foot in the Europa League final and Roma would have to produce an amazing fightback in the second leg to overturn a 6-2 deficit.

The Italians looked in control of the tie when they grabbed two away goals in the first half at Old Trafford but United ran amok after the break.

That meant both of our tips were winners, including United to win and over 2.5 goals at 5/4, so hopefully we can have similar success in the second leg.

Roma vs Manchester United Predictions

Here are our best Roma vs Manchester United betting tips and we have dozens of other markets available for Thursday’s game.

The lowdown

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men again proved to be the comeback kings in the first leg and are odds-on favourites to also win the return fixture, with a place in the final surely a formality.

Having fallen short in four semi-finals in the last two seasons, the Red Devils were looking to underline their progress by reaching their first final under the 1999 treble hero.

Solskjaer was part of the side which thrashed Roma 7-1 in 2007 and oversaw another famous victory against the Giallorossi last Thursday.

Bruno Fernandes got the first leg off to a dream start for the hosts at Old Trafford, only for Lorenzo Pellegrini to swiftly level and ex-Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko to give Paulo Fonseca’s side a shock half-time lead.

But United have dug deep to bounce back time and time again this season, with Edinson Cavani inspiring the latest comeback when smashing home a superb leveller just minutes into the second half.

The veteran put Solskjaer’s men ahead after an error by substitute Antonio Mirante before Fernandes added a penalty and Paul Pogba headed home.

Mason Greenwood came off the bench to add gloss on a night when Roma’s three first-half injuries took their toll in a dramatic first leg.

Roma have nothing to lose in the second leg but United are well suited to picking teams off on the break so both teams to score in the first half again appeals at 15/8 as the first of our Roma vs Man Utd betting tips.

First goalscorer tips

While the challenge which awaits them is unlikely to be achieved, an early goal for Roma is a must if they are to give United anything at all to be concerned about.

Dzeko is no stranger to scoring in Manchester derbies and his last four goals for Roma have come in this competition.

The 35-year-old netted in the first leg at Old Trafford and is a decent shout at 11/2 to open the scoring in Rome.

Anytime goalscorer tips

After a season of injuries and lack of form, Greenwood is enjoying a good scoring run with six goals in his last eight games.

The 19-year-old came off the bench to round off the scoring in the first leg and, with the tie all-but over, he may get a chance from the start this time.

Either way, with Greenwood now a regular on the scoresheet, him to score at anytime at 29/20 is worth considering.

Where the game will be won or lost

Roma left the pitch crestfallen after their almighty collapse at Old Trafford.

Head coach Fonseca said: “It’s a heavy defeat. We had a good first half but we didn’t exist in the second.

“It’s difficult to explain how the same team that did so well in the first half had that kind of second half.

“It’s hard to play against a side like United without having the substitutions (to make in the second half).”

Roma’s record against the top teams in Serie A this season does not provide much hope of them giving United a scare.

They are yet to win or keep a clean sheet against any of the current top six, although they have at least managed home draws against runaway leaders Inter Milan (2-2), Atalanta (1-1) and Juventus (2-2).

With the tie surely over, both teams may be satisfied with a draw in the second leg and a score draw appeals at 18/5 in the Roma vs Man Utd odds.

For an even bigger price, a draw and both teams to score in both halves at 17/1 completes our Roma vs Man Utd betting tips and would have paid out in one of Roma’s meetings with Juventus and AC Milan this season.
