The NFL season has reached its climax as defending champions the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.

Tom Brady will be making a record 10th Super Bowl appearance after leading the Bucs to a 31-26 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The Chiefs, 6/10 favourites in the NFL betting odds and -3 on the spread, are back in the championship match after Patrick Mahomes spearheaded a 38-24 win against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC title game.

The usual fanfare will be absent in order to comply with Covid protocols, but we have three NFL betting tips for the big game at the Bucs’ Raymond James Stadium on February 7.

NFL betting tips: Super Bowl LV

Kansas City Chiefs @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Feb 7, 23:30)

The Chiefs are bidding to become the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the 2003 and 2004 seasons when Tom Brady – the current Buccaneers quarterback – led the New England Patriots to wins against the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tampa Bay are the underdogs at 5/4 in the NFL Super Bowl odds to win the title for only the second time in their 45-year history following their success in the 2003 season, so a lot hinges on Brady, born two years after the Bucs were formed, to get the job done.

The teams met once during the regular season, Tyreek Hill scoring three touchdowns and making 269 yards, 200 of which came in the first quarter alone, in a 27-24 victory for the Chiefs.

Mahomes threw to Hill for all three touchdowns and Brady also managed the same feat for Tampa so the scene is set for a massive quarterback battle.

Of course Brady has more experience than anyone else of competing in Super Bowls, but it was the 24-year-old Mahomes who inspired Kansas to come back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter against the 49ers last year so he is unlikely to be overwhelmed by the occasion.

The Chiefs have a superb offense and the Bucs have averaged just over 30 points in the regular season and the play-offs, so the temptation may be to side with a shoot-out with the points spread set at 57.

However, 13 of the last 16 Super Bowls have been under that figure and that was the case when they met at the same venue more than two months ago, so we’ll make the Chiefs to win and under 56.5 points the first of our Super Bowl betting tips at 41/20.

Hill was the main man back in November and only Davante Adams has received more touchdowns than his 15 so it is no surprise to see him at 28/5 in the NFL betting to draw first blood, but we prefer the merits of Travis Kelce to get the ball rolling.

The tight end scored two TDS against the Bills in the AFC title decider and one during the 22-17 victory over the Browns in the divisional round, so he gets our vote at almost 6/1 as the next of our NFL bet predictions.

With Hill an obvious danger we conclude our NFL betting preview by getting onside with the wide receiver.

Hill’s yardage against the Chiefs was the most in a first quarter since 2006 and he will be keen to make his mark once again on the biggest stage.

As one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, Hill can score a touchdown in a four-point or better victory for the Chiefs and under 56.5 in total at 13/2 as the last of our NFL betting predictions.
