There are just three rounds of Super League fixtures until the end of the regular season and several teams are scrapping to avoid a place in the bottom four.

For this week’s Super League betting tips we’ve focused on teams in danger and have a treble which would pay almost £68 for a £10 stake.

Huddersfield vs Wigan

A lot has changed since Huddersfield were thrashed 48-10 at Wigan in March. Rick Stone was sacked four days later and they have now won six of their last seven league matches, four of them since Simon Woolford took over as Stone’s successor.

A victory over the Warriors at the John Smith’s Stadium would go a long way to securing an unlikely top-eight finish and confidence could not be much higher following last week’s 29-18 home win against Hull, which Woolford said was the best performance since he arrived. We’re backing the Giants to edge this one at evens.

Warrington vs Catalans

Catalans made a slow start to the season and were bottom of the table at the end of April after winning just two of their 11 matches but they have lost only two of their last nine to climb to seventh. The return of full-back Tony Gigot from a doping ban a month into the season helped stop the rot while the mid-season signings of half-back Josh Drinkwater and back-row forward Kenny Edwards have enabled the Dragons to kick on.

Coach Steve McNamara has also enforced a more professional approach in his players, with improvements to their lifestyles a major factor in the upturn in results. They still face a tough test at Warrington but it looks a good time to go there after the Wolves suffered a bruising 13-12 loss at Wigan last week.

Leeds vs Wakefield

Leeds have dropped into the bottom four and are in danger of a relegation fight in the Super 8s unless they can halt their slump quickly. Head coach Brian McDermott paid the price for a seven-match losing run in the league which Kevin Sinfield failed to stop on Sunday when they suffered a 42-10 loss to Castleford.

The Rhinos are back at Headingley this week and are looking to complete the double over their neighbours after a 28-26 win in April. We expect another hard-fought local derby and the visitors are fancied to remain competitive against opponents who would settle for any kind of win right now.
