VIP Program Rebates and Rewards FAQ
We were the first online poker site to reward its players, and the VIP Club remains the biggest and best rebates and rewards program in online poker! Every real money player is eligible to earn StarsCoin at our tables. StarsCoin can be spent on great merchandise, to enter online tournaments, and to qualify for major live events! The more you play, the more you earn. See below to find out more about what we offer.
When you play for real money, you earn VIP Player Points (VPPs) which contribute to your progress in completing Steps. Every time you complete a Step, you’ll receive an amount of StarsCoin, as a rebate of your contribution to rake or tournament fees, which you can spend on a wide range of rewards in the VIP Store. Click here for more information on VIP Steps.
VIP Player Points (VPPs) measure how much you play in our real money tournaments and ring games, and track your progress towards the completion of your next Step. VPPs are earned by playing real money poker hands where you contribute to the rake collected from the pot, as follows:
5.5 VPPs for each $1.00 USD, 4.25 VPPs for every $1.00 CAD, 6.1 VPPs for each €1.00 EUR, or 7.25 VPPs for each £1.00 GBP in fee paid. These rates may be updated due to fluctuations in exchange rates.
For microstakes games, VPPs are awarded as follows (the left columns indicate the size of the small and big blinds):
|VPPs awarded per $1.00 USD in rake collected||VPPs awarded per €1.00 EUR in rake collected|
Players do not earn VPPs at pot-limit and no-limit tables with blinds of $5/$10 or higher, 8-game tables with stakes of $20-$40 or higher, or other limit games with stakes of $20-$40 or higher.
The VIP Club began on January 1st, 2006
Status in the ChromeStar, SilverStar, GoldStar, PlatinumStar and Supernova tiers lasts until the end of the calendar month following the month in which you qualified, unless you requalify for that level or qualify for a higher level. So, if you complete enough Steps between June 1 and June 20 to achieve ChromeStar status, you have achieved ChromeStar status for the remainder of June and all of July. At the start of July you’ll be on Step 1 of ChromeStar, and will remain on ChromeStar for the remainder of the month unless you complete the Steps required to move up to SilverStar. Should you achieve SilverStar status during July, you’ll start August on SilverStar Step 1. If you fail to complete the Steps required to maintain ChromeStar in July, you’ll start August on BronzeStar Step 1.
The VIP Steps progress bar will alert you when you’re close to earning a new VIP status or maintaining your current status.
No, you must have the required amount of StarsCoin and also be the necessary status level for the reward at the moment you make the purchase. For example, if you were a GoldStar VIP in February, but it's now April and you are currently SilverStar, you will not be able to purchase GoldStar-only items at that time.
Full information about your VIP status and Steps progress, as well as your StarsCoin balance, can be found in your Cashier window or by clicking on the VIP Steps progress bar.

StarsCoin only expire if you do not earn any VPPs within a calendar year. If you earn any VPPs in 2016 then your StarsCoin will not expire that year. However, if you do not earn any VPPs in the 2016 calendar year then your StarsCoin will expire on January 1, 2017.
Effective July 1, 2017, StarsCoin will expire if you do not earn any VPPs within a 6-month rolling period. For example, if you earned at least 0.01 VPP on January 1, 2017 but then did not play again until August 2017 then your StarsCoin would expire on August 1, 2017. As long as you earn at least 0.01 VPP every six months then your StarsCoin will not expire.
Tournament tickets are valid for one year from the issue date, and they must be used during this time period. If tournament tickets are unused for a period of one year, they expire and will be of zero value. You can reverse tournament ticket purchases before the expiration date by contacting the VIP Club.
