EPT Prague: James Hartigan’s year in review
As 2025 nears its end, we’re catching up with our PokerStars Ambassadors at EPT Prague to learn about the year that was. What did they enjoy? What do they wish they’d done differently? And what do they have planned for 2026?

WHAT WAS YOUR POKER HIGHLIGHT OF 2025?
James Hartigan: I was proud to make a deep run in the Sunday Million Anniversary for the second year in a row. But the clear and obvious highlight was watching my partner Michelle win the Ladies Championship at the Irish Open.

HOW ABOUT YOUR NON-POKER HIGHLIGHT – HOW WAS YOUR 2025 IN GENERAL?
I had a pretty good 2025, with lots of travels and adventures. The highlight for me, as a life-long movie nerd, was going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars party in West Hollywood.
WAS THERE ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED THIS YEAR YOU WISH NOW YOU’D DONE DIFFERENTLY? HOW?
Going back to the Irish Open, I wish I hadn’t so confidently and arrogantly celebrated that chop pot that wasn’t actually a chop pot.

WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL EXPECTATIONS/HOPES FOR 2026?
I hope and fully expect to retain my Gold status on British Airways. It’s not easy to do these days. But I’m almost there.
WHAT ABOUT POKER IN 2026 — WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO?
If I don’t have to work at the WSOP next summer, it will be nice to play a few tournaments and finally enter my first-ever Seniors Event.
