Home / Excitement builds for EPT London: Key dates, how to buy in, how to collect payouts and more

In just a couple of weeks’ time, London will host the European Poker Tour (EPT) for the first time in eight years. This is incredibly exciting not only for poker players and fans living in the UK but also anyone intending to travel to London from Europe or further afield.

That’s because London is the perfect city to visit for a poker event. Not only are you guaranteed a first-class poker-playing experience (as you are at any PokerStars Live event), but should the worse happen and you find yourself knocked out, you’ll then have one of the best capital cities in the world to explore.

The EPT London tournament series will run from October 18-28, 2022, with the £5,300 Main Event kicking off on October 22 and running through to the end.

There’s also a £50,000 Super High Roller for those with big bankrolls, plus a £10,300 High Roller, a £330 Ladies Event, and a special Mystery Bounty event in which at least one envelope will contain a $30,000 Platinum Pass to the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) 2023.

Should you arrive in town a bit early, there’s also an entire UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) festival running in the build-up to the EPT, featuring a £1,100 Main Event, a £2,200 High Roller, and a £440 Mystery Bounty Cup.

We’ve got a brand new venue for the EPT to tell you about, too.

For the first time, EPT London (and the UKIPT London series beforehand) will run at the Park Lane Hilton, an amazing venue overlooking Marble Arch and Hyde Park in the Mayfair district of London (you know, the most expensive property on the British Monopoly board).

Here’s another look at those key EPT London dates:

  • EPT Super High Roller: October 21-23 – £50,000
  • EPT Main Event: October 22-28 – £5,300
  • EPT Platinum Pass Mystery Bounty: October 24-26 – £3,000
  • EPT High Roller: October 26-28 – £10,300
  • EPT Ladies Event: October 21 – £330

If you’re still umming and ahhing about whether or not you’re going to come, rest assured there are still rooms available through PokerStars Travel.

So, you arrive in London and want to play some poker. Where do you go to register?

That all depends on whether or not you want to play tournaments or cash games.

For EPT London tournaments, head to the Park Lane Hilton. You can buy into any event on the schedule using either:

  • Your Hippodrome card (once funded with cash/debit card/wire transfer at the Hippodrome)
  • Your debit card (a form must be completed. Please note that source of funds/bank statements may be requested upon set-up)
  • Your PokerStars account (.UK/.EU/.COM/.FR)
  • Luxon (Credit card use to top-up Luxon account is not permitted in the UK)

Check out the full EPT London schedule here.

If you want to play cash games, you should head to the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square. There you can buy in to games using:

  • Your Hippodrome card with Cash, or Debit Card*
  • Wire transfer** (sent in advance to the Hippodrome)

A free shuttle service will be available between 10:00 AM to 00:00 AM from the Park Lane Hilton to the Hippodrome and back. During the series, cash games will run 24 hours a day.

Check out what games will be running here, or on the PokerStars Live app.

*Hippodrome cannot accept Top-up cards, or most online bank cards such as Revolut, Frees or Robin Hood. Monzo and Starling are accepted.

**Those who send wire transfers must be ID verified in person before funds can be added to their Hippodrome card. All players wiring funds in must provide evidence of funds and complete due diligence checks by email

NB: Must bring a valid government-issued passport or ID to enter Hippodrome Casino.

Should you cash a tournament (congrats in advance!) your payout will be credited back to the same method you used during registration.

These include:

  • PokerStars Account – (.UK .EU .COM) 24hr
  • Luxon – 24hr
  • Credit onto Hippodrome card and then
  • Cash*/Bank Transfer – to be collected/arranged at the Hippodrome in person.

Again, a free shuttle service will be available between 10:00 AM to 00:00 AM from the Park Lane Hilton to the Hippodrome and back.

There will also be plenty of activities to keep you busy while away from the tables. Stay tuned to the PokerStars Blog for more info on those.
