Germany’s Tom Fuchs picked up the second seven-figure score of his burgeoning career when he defeated Kayhan Mokri heads-up to win the €100K Super High Roller event at EPT Barcelona.
Mokri, already two-time champion in this event, was denied an unprecedented third win by the 28-year-old German pro, who went wire-to-wire on the tournament’s final day and claimed the €1,126,540 first prize. Mokri had to settle for €707,000.
The UK’s rapidly rising star Jamie Dwan finished third for €472,000, with American pro Byron Kaverman fourth, earning €314,000. Italian reg Enrico Camosci bubbled the 27-entry tournament in fifth.
The only bigger win of Fuchs’ career came in 2024 when he earned his first World Series bracelet in the Bahamas, but he has put together a long string of six-figure scores across the world since first emerging on the scene in the years following the Covid break.
NEW SUPER HIGH ROLLER STAR
He made his EPT debut in 2022 and has since appeared regularly on the tour, most notably picking up €228,000 for ninth place in the $100K High Roller for One Drop in Monte Carlo in May. This marks his first outright win in a PokerStars sponsored event, completed in the most emphatic fashion.
Fuchs denied Kayhan Mokri an unprecedented third win
Fuchs was chip-leader at the end of the first day, and continued to be the man to catch through Saturday’s session. However, Fuchs’ countryman Fedor Holz was among those to perish short of the final, with David Coleman, Klemens Roiter, Sam Mullur and Jean-Noel Thorel also hitting the rail prematurely.
Originally scheduled to play out over three days, players and tournament staff agreed to finish in it two, allowing Fuchs to coast to victory.
