POKERSTARS RELEASE NOTES – 17 DECEMBER 2024

Table

♠ Winter Holiday Theme & Throwables
o During the holidays you can enjoy a game of poker on our Winter Holiday Tables! (Make sure to have optional graphics on!)
o We also will have special Challenges available rewarding Winter Holiday Throwables. (Subject to availability from the 19th of December)
♠ Improved Tournament Result Dialogs
o We listened to your feedback and have improved the Tournament Result Dialogs so it is more exciting to share.

Desktop – Navigation

♠ Dark Mode Tournament-Related Windows
o To make the overall experience more consistent we have now added dark mode for Tournament-related screens. This change also fixes some readability
issues of the tournament list in these screens.

Mobile

♠ New Power Path Lobby
o The new Power Path lobby design is now available in the PokerStars Mobile app for UK players.

Website

♠ Power Path List View
o We’ve released a list view for the Power Path lobby on the website. The list view enables users to see the full schedule of steps to play. You can switch
between the tile and list view using the toggle on the top left.

Bug Fixes

We have removed several bugs including:

♠ Desktop: End of Tournament dialogs, various.
♠ Desktop: Multiple ‘Failure to Establish Connection’ messages scenario.
♠ Desktop: Waiting List Status not updating.

Desktop – Table 

• Mystery Bounty – Display Average Bounty Remaining 

• During the Final Stage, the Average Mystery Bounty value is now shown in the Remaining Bounties overview. To access, click tourneyinfo in the top right corner of the table. 

• Center This Player 

• After listening to our players, we have reintroduced the option to “Center this player”, which can be activated from the Pod Menu (right click player pod) 

• Stars Season Table Theme 

• Themed table to match the new Stars Season and available as part of the season events 

• Several bugs and visual improvement tasks have been completed to make the overall table experience more smooth and enjoyable. 

Desktop – Navigation  

• Power Path Lobby 

• A refreshed design to the popular Power Path offer on our desktop application is now available in all licenses. 

• The new lobby offers attractive design as well as more simple flow to redeem your pass. Check the new Home subtab in the Power Path lobby to join the action. 

• Seasons Lobby 

• Following the launch of the Stars Seasons, we have now available a Home Page for Seasons in desktop client where you can access all satellites, target events, leaderboard, challenges and keep updated on the games and highlights for the Season. 

Website   

• Power Path New Lobby 

• The lobby is available now in ES, IT and DE licenses. 

• Multi Table Web Lobby 

• We are opening our offer of tournament games in our web platform. The lobby is available now in COM, UK, ES, IT and DE. 

Bug Fixes 

We have removed several bugs including: 

• Desktop: Player unable to use Power Path Step 1 Daily Offer 

• Desktop: Multi Day events are marked with wrong Day in event lobby. Low frequency 

• Desktop: Winning Hand Animation not Working Properly at the Table and in the Hand Replayer 

• Desktop: Board Shows Highlighted Cards Before Showdown at the Table and in the Hand Replayer 

NOTE:  We’ve streamlined our Cash Game offering on Shared liquidity markets by removing certain rarely played games and stakes. Specifically, 5C Omaha Hi/Lo and NL Omaha Cap Hi/Lo have been removed for all stakes. Some higher stakes NLHE 9-Max and NLHE 9-Max Ante games have been removed along with some lower stakes PLO Ante games.
 
NOTE: IMPORTANT: Our players may notice any feature listed in this document at different times. This means that our users may see any ‘player facing’ change days after the server restart and PC software update. While we do our best to advertise any change in user experience as part of the Release Note, some changes are immediate and other will come with the software update or days after the new version has been released. 
 
NOTE: GAME OFFER: 6 Cards Omaha has been launched on SE, Cash Game only.

  • It’s now available in Real Money. See the path not taken after everyone folds by revealing the Turn & River cards that would have been dealt if the hand had continued…

• Power Path Desktop Lobby
  • A refreshed design to the popular Power Path offer on our desktop application is now available in .UK and .COM. The new lobby offers an attractive design as well as a more simple flow to redeem your pass. Check the new Home subtab in the Power Path lobby to join the action.

• Desktop – Home Games
  • We have enabled the new Home Games Lobby on NET, BE and for our Switzerland-based players. You can play with friends by clicking on the Home Game tab on top of the lobby, where the rest of the events are listed. 

Desktop – Cashier

• The new cashier is live on the .COM, .RO & .UK websites. Plan is to roll out on the desktop client in the next releases. It’s easy to use as players will have a more intuitive, modern and simple cashier experience.

Bug Fixes

We have removed several bugs including: 

• Desktop: unable to unregister from a tournament. “Unregister” button is still showing after unregistration attempt. Rare. 
• Desktop: minor crashes, low frequency. 
• Desktop: Filters, Running/Completed events not showing in special tabs (ie Power Path, WCOOP) 
• Desktop: Felt Color Selection Reverts to Default After Reopening Table Theme 
• Mobile: Black area upon device rotation.  

Minimum System Requirements As of October 2024, PokerStars will no longer continue supporting Windows 7 and 8 operating systems. Players will still be able to play their favorite games but will not be able to get client updates with new content. PokerStars recommends upgrading your operating system to Windows 10 or 11 to enjoy the best that PokerStars offers. Alternatively, you can continue to play using the PokerStars mobile app. 

Change in PokerStars offer, shared liquidity Sit & Go games.   We’ve streamlined our Sit & Go offering to focus on the most popular formats. We have removed several fixed limit and mixed game options, however you can still enjoy our regular NL Hold’em games along with 8 Game, 5 Card Draw and PL/NL Omaha. If your favourite game was impacted, we hope that you will find an alternative in the new offering.

  Change in PokerStars Play Money offer  We have streamlined our Ring Games offering by consolidating certain stakes and introducing new ones to enhance playing experience. Specifically, we’ve removed the 50/100 stake and added the 500/1,000 and 50,000/100,000 stakes. We hope you enjoy the updated games!

POKERSTARS RELEASE NOTES – 6 AUGUST 2024

Desktop – Table 

• Update to BB Rounding 

• A change to how bet values are rounded when shown in BB. Bets above 10BB will be shown to one decimal place, values below 10BB will be shown as two decimal places.  

• This only impacts the display of BB values, not the value of the bet and resolves a defect where rounding can make it appear that bet values do not match – particularly in All-in situations. 

• Colour Coded Chip Values – Cash Games 

• This feature changes the colour of the Chip Value text in opponent avatars. Chip stacks lower than yours will display as Red text, those larger than yours will display as Green text. Matching stack values display as White.  

• Colour coding will make it easier for some players to quickly identify opponents they can cover. Future developments will expand this feature to Tournaments and allow for customisation of colours and relative stack sizes. 

• Active Player Highlight Animation 

• A new animation for the active player highlights in all game types. The inside of the pod will now pulse when action is on each player. 

• This new animation should make it easier to identify the active player at a table while also resolving issues where coloured labels were partially blocked. 

Website   

• Power Path Web Lobby 

• A new and improved design of the popular Power Path offering now available to play directly on the website. The new lobby offers an appealing design and simple user journeys to join a game and redeem a pass. The new lobby is available to play in .UK and .COM websites with play limited to 1 game at a time. Search for the Power Path tab on the website to join the action! 

• MTT Web Lobby 

• Pokerstars continues to extend its web offering by releasing a tournaments lobby on the website. Users can now join into multi-table tournaments directly from the browser. The new lobby is available in .UK and .COM with limited buyin and game types. Play is limited to 1 game at a time. 

Bug Fixes 

We have removed several bugs including: 

• Favourites: Ability to filter favourites list by tournament state and the free text search box 

• Favourites: Favouring a tournament from Events tab does not save the tournament into favourites 

• Favourites: Favouring a series of tournament doesn’t save all games into favourites

POKERSTARS RELEASE NOTES – JUNE 2024

Desktop – Table

• Player Pod Redesign: Introducing a new design to the player pods on the poker table for desktop and mobile. All tables will now have the same shape player pods, with some themes colour tinted to align with the styling of the theme being used. Functionality of the player pods is unchanged; this is only a design update. As a result of these new changes, it will also reduce assets loads and opens avenues for future development.

Desktop – Navigation

• Further changes to filters in MTT lobby:

• State buttons – prominent state buttons that allow users to include / exclude tournaments at different states with a single click. In addition, any filter combination is now supported. The new state buttons replace the “show upcoming only” checkbox. This change increases visibility and accessibility of the state options that are selected.
• Satellite filter – new position to the satellite filter. This change increases the visibility and accessibility of this filter and allows users to utilise it with a single click. The filter allows users to add satellites to the view as before, in addition to the other TYPE filters. Users will no longer be able to filter their list to see “satellites only”
• Global Clear button – new “Clear” button that allows users to reset all drop down filters with a single click. This is a change from the old functionality which only allowed to temporarily disable filters, but not reset them at once.
• Removal of several filters – we removed several filters that were no longer compatible with our game offering or filters that had very low usage. This includes: Currency filter, Min Enrolled, Starts in, Custom start time
• Merging Format & Type Filter – as part of our efforts to simplify flows we merged the Format & Type filter which can now be found under the same dropdown.

• New Favourites Flow in MTT lobby

• Favourites tournaments can now be saved and accessed directly from the MTT lobby with a single click. In addition, users will have the option to save a set of tournaments or a single tournament. This change will allow users to easily access their favourite tournaments without leaving the lobby. Existing saved games will be migrated upon client update.
• This change is currently only implemented in the MTT lobby. Favourites from Cash Games, Zoom and Sit & Go lobbies will be available in the old Favourites tab.
• Onboarding tour for filters – upon first launch of the client post the update – you will see coach marks describing the changes to the new saved filters and favourites flows

Bug Fixes

We have removed several bugs including:

• Desktop: ‘Find a Pro’ not working.
• Desktop: Mystery Bounty Widget is not showing after moving to another table.
• Desktop: Hand History of Last hand in Tournament and Zoom Missing.
• Desktop: “Throwable” and ‘Prestige’ buttons are not showing on the screen.
• Desktop: ‘Apply Changes’ button occasionally not working.
• Desktop: Filters, various minor bugs and other improvements.
• Desktop: The “Fold & Watch (Zoom)” Hotkey doesn’t work during players time bank.
• Desktop: Changing player label colour from ‘Notes’ tab isn’t synching with player pod.
• Desktop: Notes editing jumps to the end of the box while multi tabling.
• Desktop: Ante filter in cash games not displaying 6+ and tempest.
• Desktop: Replays are saved into favourites list of tournaments.
• Desktop: Empty and non-collapsible banners in featured tabs
• Mobile: Missing labels, right side table. Rare.

Other updates to note:

Client Width: Following our last update in UK, we have now increased the minimum client width in all clients. The new minimum client size will be 1280×720. The change will become effective immediately without a client update. This change will allow us to better scale features, designs and user flows.

POKER OFFER CHANGE, Shared Liquidity Markets From Monday, June 3, we are making some adjustments to our Cash Game offering:

• Game Removals: HORSE, Mixed NLHE/PLO, and Courchevel will no longer be available as Cash Games due to low demand. These games will remain available in tournament formats.
• New Micro Stakes: We are introducing Micro Stakes for 5 Card PLO and 6 Card PLO Cash Games. We hope you enjoy the new stakes!

PLANNED MAINTENANCES

Upcoming maintenance: play will be unavailable for certain times throughout the following dates:

• June 11: 12+ hrs (from 05:00 ET)
• June 25 or 26 (specific day and duration to be confirmed)

These maintenance periods allow us to complete essential updates to our systems. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your patience during these periods.

POKERSTARS RELEASE NOTES – APRIL 2024

Desktop – Navigation

• New minimum client size – We increased the minimum width of the client and the new minimum client size will be 1200×720. The new minimum size will allow us to better scale features, designs and user flows. The change is expected to be implemented in UK initially before being rolled out to other licences.
• The rail is now available to users in Ontario licence – Visit the rail tab on the right side menu to get access to the great poker content PokerStars has to offer.
• Mystery Bounty Event lobby – Prize Overview tab has been added to the Event Lobby, next to Payouts tab. This allows the players to see what Bounties have been assigned and how many remaining.

• New rail design – We applied a new and modern design to our widget content in the rail. the changes improve the look and feel of the rail and increase visibility of the content.

Desktop – Table

• Mystery Bounty – Player Pod: If a player has won a Mystery Bounty prize, you will see it by clicking on the player’s pod.

Website

• Spin&Go on the web – new game variants are now available to play on the website! Max Hold’em is now available to play in UK, COM, DE, ES, IT and Omaha is available to play in UK, COM, DE with limited buy-in range.

Bug Fixes

We have removed several bugs including:

• Zoom Hands not saved in Hand History when Fast Folding.
• MTT Lobby: graphical improvements, various.
• Mobile: Miscellaneous Visual Bugs/Improvements, overlapping elements.

Sit & Go Offering Update

We’ve streamlined our Sit & Go offering to ensure less time waiting time for games to start.

We have removed the following No Limit Hold’em game types: 9-Max Single Table Hyper Turbo, 6-Max Single Table Regular Speed, 9-Max Single Table Super KOs, and some On-Demand games.

For all removed games, we still offer similar game types at the same stakes. If your favorite game was impacted, we hope that you will enjoy the alternative games going forward!

POKERSTARS RELEASE NOTES – MARCH 2024

Desktop – Table

Rabbit Hunt (Beta) – During this patch, we will progressively enable the new Rabbit Hunt feature on Play Money tables. In poker, ‘Rabbit Hunt’ is when a dealer can deal out the rest of the community board in an incomplete hand once players have folded and the action has finished, to see what cards would have been dealt on future streets. When our initial testing is concluded we will consider launching it for all games or improving it further.

Player Pod Improvements: We have changed the interface for Player Pod options. You can now once more access labels with just one click. Further Player Pod improvements are expected to come later this year.

Mystery Bounty – Continuous Improvements – We have added the PlayerID to show who won the biggest Mystery Bounty in the prize overview. We have improved the wording for “Gameplay Animation” to “Bounty Animation”.

Bug Fixes

We have removed several bugs including:

• Mobile: Wrong Tourney Display Info.
• Desktop: Fold to Any Bet not working.
• Desktop: Carbon Lite + Carbon Themes, removal of Card Dealing animation.
• Desktop: Mac, rendered Lobby columns.
• Desktop: Hyperlinks to target tourneys in Satellites not working.
• Desktop: Missing ‘1X RE-ENTRY’ chip in tournament side car.
• Desktop: ‘Registered-in tournaments’ graphics override rightmost column.
• Desktop: Hand equities do not show when Card Sorting is enabled.
• Desktop: Animation of dealt cards displayed in Replayer.

Starting from this build, we have removed Windows Vista from the list of Supported Operating Systems. Players will still be able to connect and play but we will not be able to assist in case of any player facing issue or bug.

POKERSTARS RELEASE NOTES – JANUARY 2024

Desktop & Mobile

• PokerStars Mystery Bounty – Win Mystery Bounties in this new tournament type, now available in most licenses and soon available in all licenses. Keep an eye on the tournament lobby for the next Mystery Bounty event

Desktop – Navigation       

MTT List:

• Game icons: icons have been re-ordered to ease the reading of game information. Bounty icons will now appear in 3^rd position within the row.

Side Car (Tournament lobby preview, right side panel):

• Bounty information for winners – In addition to the prize awarded to winners, the side car will now also display the amount of prize the winner has collected in bounties
• Re-entry information – number of re-entries allowed has been added and available in the red RE-ENTRY tag at the top
• Phase end information –this data point is now dynamic and will display the number of levels remaining to play in the phase, instead of total levels played
  

Desktop – Table

• Poker Sound Settings – We listened to player feedback on our previous iteration of updates to Sound Settings and are adding back a customisation option for the Attention Sound Effect. We may make further changes to optimise the experience for this setting
• Scaling Card sizes – cards sizes now scale when you resize the table size

Bug Fixes

We have removed several bugs including:

• Game Play Best Slider issues: advanced betting buttons turned itself to disabled
• SNG tourney not opening in rare cases
• Unable to observe Zoom tables, Observe button not available
• ‘Add chips’ not working in Zoom if automatic rebuy is turned on
• Self-Throwable not working
• Missing game icons in MTT list and legend in several licences
• Sort by late reg: rows are reordered / jumpy
• Selected tile blurriness in Spin&Go lobby
