7 must-watch shows and movies in May 2023

Grab your popcorn, sit back and relax with some of the best things to grace the big screen (and your home) this May. There’s the next in the sequel from the Guardians of the Galaxy clan and a brand-new Netflix thriller starring Jennifer Lopez.

May 3 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3

In Marvel Studios “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them. 

May 4 – Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Available on Netflix 

Young Queen Charlotte’s marriage to King George of England sparks an epic love story and transforms high society in this “Bridgerton” universe prequel. 

May 12 – Book Club The Next Chapter

In “City on Fire,” an NYU student is shot in Central Park on the Fourth of July, 2003. Samantha is alone; there are no witnesses and very little physical evidence. Her friends’ band is playing at her favourite downtown club but she leaves to meet someone, promising to return. She never does. As the crime against Samantha is investigated, she’s revealed to be the crucial connection between a series of mysterious citywide fires, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family fraying under the strain of the many secrets they keep.
