Baccarat Payouts
The game of Baccarat evokes in many players a sense of elegant refinement, of mysterious spies and beautiful women adorned in shimmering gowns. But don’t let those high roller-type images and mystique put you off an interesting online casino game with good odds and payouts depending on your bet.
Even more interesting and engaging are the online versions of Baccarat found at long-standing casinos like PokerStars, as there are variations that differ from the traditional game and that are especially easy to understand and play when online. So, let’s take a deeper look at what Baccarat is all about and how Baccarat payouts work.
Baccarat and How It Works
With online Baccarat, you have the option of a virtual dealer and digital cards or a live dealer version that provides the look and feel of a land-based casino, but with the comfort of not having to leave the house or being able to continue with your day while you play. Here are some of the main elements that make up any Baccarat game:
Dealer
In Baccarat, the dealer does not participate in the game but only deals the cards. They will hand out two cards that face up to the open spots on the table, that being the Player’s and the Banker’s. No matter how many people play the game, only these two spots will have cards dealt to them. Other players will then have to bet on the outcome of any round before the cards are passed out.
Banker
The first spot to receive cards from the dealer is that of the banker. In both virtual and land-based games, this isn’t a real person but rather a participant whom the actual players play against. As mentioned above, two cards are dealt to the Banker face up.
Player
Similarly, the Player is also a virtual participant whom the other players bet for or against. The Player and the Banker also compete against each other.
Real Players
These are the players who will be placing bets on who will win- the Player or the banker. In a traditional game, they don’t touch the cards at all. They will have marked spaces with betting options available to them on the table.
Real players can bet on the Banker or the Player to win and also whether the game will end in a Tie. The Banker bet is considered the safer of the three as it has a lower house edge. The Player is next, followed by the Tie bet, which, expectedly, has a higher payout of 8:1.
Baccarat Payouts
The payouts in the game of Baccarat depend on what kind of wager you make. For example, the wagers on Banker and Player have the same return but different rules when it comes to payouts. Winning on a Tie bet has a much higher payout but greater odds.
Baccarat Payouts – How they work
Payouts for Banker and Player wagers are even; it’s always 1:1. So, if you wager £1, you win £1, thus walking away with £2 for that single bet. There is also a small commission that the casino will take that you must consider. This could either be in the form of a cash amount or a percentage. Our recommendation, if you are able to choose what type of commission the casino can take, is to select a percentage for smaller wins and the cash amount for anything over £20.
The Player bet is also a 1:1 payout but casinos generally do not take any commission. There is a higher house edge with this bet and the Tie bet, but the winnings are also higher, so it just depends on what type of bet suits you and your budget best.
