SPECIAL DRAGON found herself less-than-ideally placed when fifth behind re-opposing Calli Black in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter 2 weeks ago and, having previously shaped like she was building up to something, she could be worth siding with to turn the tables on these revised terms. Obsessedwithyou was seen to good effect when opening her chase account at Ffos Las yet remains sufficiently lightly raced in this sphere to think that won't prove her limit.

    Verdict
Fair 2m winner over hurdles who left her reappearance/chase debut effort in her wake when winning 5-runner mares' handicap chase at Ffos Las (16f, good) 30 days ago. Seen to good effect from the front then but that may not prove her limit.

    Verdict
Winning hurdler (at 21f) and similar form over fences, best effort when runner-up at Uttoxeter (20.9f) in May. Not seen to best effect having been left with a lot to do when 11½ lengths fifth of 10 to Calli Black in handicap chase at Worcester (20f) 14 days ago and better anticipated here.

    Verdict
Maiden point winner in January 2023 who readily surpassed she achieved over hurdles when landing 10-runner handicap chase (20/1) at Worcester (20f, good to soft) 14 days ago, suited by forcing the pace. Remains low-mileage in this sphere so there could be more to come.

    Verdict
Dual chase winner last term (including over C&D) who posted easily her best effort since when second of 5 in mares' handicap chase at Stratford (19.5f) last month. Shade disappointing when third of 4 at Warwick (20f) subsequently but no great surprise to see her bounce back.

Back to winning ways in mares' handicap chase at Worcester (20f) last July but well held all 4 starts since, no upturn on the back of wind surgery when third of 4 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (3m) 27 days ago. Needs to bounce back down in trip.

    Verdict
Winless since taking a Ludlow mares' handicap in May 2023, but found just one too good in 10-runner event at Hereford (21f, good) on final start for Katy Price in October. May of needed first start for 8 months at Uttoxeter (3m) 16 days ago and she comes here operating from a workable mark.

    Verdict
Dual chase winner in France who fared much better than on first start for current yard returned to chasing when runner-up in mares' event at Fakenham (21.2f, good) in May. Probably best not judged too harshly on her latest Cartmel effort and cheekpieces now go on in place of the hood.
