CLEO CAT (5) tackles the straight for the first time but only needs to handle that to be measuring up strongly. She's built an outstanding record and did nothing to harm her form when beaten by the talented Niance at Caulfield last time out, trying hard in second. Stays down in the weights and finds a race that lacks top-end talent. MARBLE NINE (4) is the 'weights' horse, dropping 3.5kg off a last start win in benchmark 84 grade here over 1200m. He's racing very well and should be hard to get past again. RECOMMENDATION (1) loomed as a threat in the Bel Esprit Stakes won by Niance fresh, perhaps not in the best ground there back nearer the fence. Has to turn the tables on Cleo Cat from that race but is unbeaten second up and a talented sprinter on his day. MIDWEST (2) can mix his form, fading in the Bel Esprit last time. If he gets a soft lead he'll give them something to catch. MRS CHRISSIE (7) next best.
