Verdict

Not sure it's the deepest edition of the Sires' but there are some progressive types lining up. The Oaklands Plate placegetters ETHEREUM GIRL (5) and KAZARU (8) look the horses to beat. Ethereum Girl was only beaten by a neck on that occasion and she's open to further improvement third-up in this. She's drawn well and gets a senior jockey. Kazaru also did enough in the final 400m of the Oaklands Plate and this race is no harder. VOLKANO (1) led all the way and bolted in to win his maiden on the synthetic track last time. This is harder, but he'll give some cheek in front. MOSTLY FOR SHOW (4) and BOOTLEGGER (2) look like two of the better local chances.
