FREEBELLE (2) looks to have this race at her mercy after winning for the second time in a row at Trentham 3 weeks ago by nearly 4 lengths. She won here before that, and with only an extra kilo to carry, the hat-trick beckons. PARADIS (7) made a winning debut fresh up from the in-form Suzy Gordon stable nearly a month ago and is now strong enough to cope with more racing. She loves a wet track and is the main threat to the top pick, if there is to be one. MADAM PELE (6) has turned a corner this prep and followed up a solid third on this track with an easy all the way win at Otaki over 2100m. The drop back to 1800m won't be a problem, and she can figure in the top 3 here. O'CEIRINS BELLE (9) was less than 2 lengths from the winner in fifth place at Otaki last start. She is back on her home track and can't be underestimated as a top 3 hope. CRAFTY COLIN (3) no go as favourite on a very testing Otaki track 11 days ago. He is worth another chance. Include in all multiples to be safe.
