KAY TEE WHY (3) won here fresh up when clearing his maiden status against winning horses and was then only narrowly beaten by a head on this track 7 weeks ago. The recent freshen-up would have done him no harm, and he will be hard to hold again in the small field. HAIDA GWAII (5) franked some impressive lead-up trials with an easy win from on the pace here just over a fortnight ago. He is up in class, but carries the same weight, and she can take the next step immediately. DESERT WHISPER (2) made progress last prep, and she does like to run along in front. She looked in great nick when winning a recent Belmont trial, and with the aid of a 2kg claim, she should be hard to peg back fresh up. LUCKY I AM (6) is only a maiden but has been showing a lot of courage in her races, finishing runner-up for the third time this year on this track behind the second pick last time out. She has a good gate, and won't be a maiden for much longer.
