OCEAN RANGER (9) flew home from the back of the pack first-up and looks set for a strong campaign. That was over the mile and the slight rise in trip plays into his hands. Tougher here, but he rates highly second-up and if he can improve again, he can go one better. BELLA VIOLETTA (8) was solid over 1700m at Belmont last time out when closing nicely as a 60-1 pop. The rating she ran there stacks right up in this field and this shapes similarly. Will handle the wet deck and she makes plenty of appeal. BOB THE BAKER (3) is a 2YO taking on the older horses, bolting in as a$21 chance last start at his first try over the mile. He sat handy there and put his rivals to the sword in a very impressive display. Wouldn't surprise to see him go on with the job. TAKE A LEAF (6) is better than she showed last start and can bounce back. BIG KAY DOG (1) can return to form following a disappointing performance last time out.
