Curragh

TomorrowMay 5, 2025Flat5f

Decisive debut winners LADY IMAN and Power Blue are taken to fight out the finish, though newcomers True Love and Spring Is Here (in that order of preference) are also very interesting. If the market vibes surrounding one of those debutantes are particularly strong a rethink may be needed but, as things stand, the percentage call is to side with aforementioned duo. Lady Iman looked good when beating subsequent winner Stop The Nation, who renews rivalry here, at Dundalk and she is preferred.

Won her maiden in the manner of a good prospect at Dundalk (5f) at the end of March, proving 3½ lengths too good for Stop The Nation. Should improve and she's a big player.

Looked very promising indeed when making all in a C&D maiden (soft) in March. That didn't appear to be a strong maiden by course standards but this son of Space Blues is nevertheless feared with improvement on the cards.

Foaled April 5. No Nay Never filly. Sister to useful 5f/6f winner Truly Enchanting and half-sister to useful 9f-10.7f winner Lily Pond. Dam 9f/9.5f winner who stayed 1½m. Yard has saddled the last 3 winners of this race, including with a newcomer in 2023. Needs close attention in the betting.

Filly by Starspangledbanner who fetched 225,000 euros as a yearling and she's sister to a couple of winning 2-y-os, including Castle Star (Group 3 winner as a juvenile). Evidently held in high regard and it'll be interesting to see which way she goes in the betting.

Built on promising debut second to the re-opposing Lady Iman at Dundalk when seeing off 6 rivals in a C&D minor event (good) last month. Remains open to improvement but this is more demanding.

Foaled April 22. €38,000 foal, £40,000 yearling, Blue Point filly. Half-sister to a winner abroad. Dam lightly-raced half-sister to smart 7f/1m winner First Contact. Will need to be pretty useful to make a winning debut at this level.
