DON'T (1) clearly has the best credentials of the runners with race form. Made a move before the corner then just ran out of puff in the concluding stages on debut over 1000m at Hawkesbury. Won't spend a penny from the inside stall and an extra 100m should see a little less pressure. Well placed to salute. First starter SOUTHPORT (8) is by Bivouac from a Lonhro mare who has produced six winners. Recent Hawkesbury trial winner who looks primed to make an immediate impact. Another first starter who is certain to attract interest is SPARKLING FIRE (9) who has won two trials from two attempts. Half-brother to the Group 2 placed Zealously. Must be respected. TOP SPEED (10) disappointed at Nowra last start after a strong debut at Canberra. Worth another chance. Joe Pride's CAPTURE ME (4) returns from a 24-week spell and has been gelded. A sound recent trial at Warwick Farm suggests he may have more to offer this time in work.
