EXCEEDAQA (12) returned from a spell with a moderate effort in heavy going over this trip at Newcastle last start. Kept fresh since that run five weeks ago. Will find this a lot easier and looks the one to beat. DIVINE BENE (8) was an easy winner first-up at the Beaumont track then led and battled on well for third over 1250m at Newcastle last time. Cherry ripe and a winning hope in this easier contest. WASTED DAYS (5) progressed nicely last start at the second run of the campaign, chiming in late for a close third over 1200m at Bathurst. Ready to peak at the third run back from an extended lay-off. MERCANTILIST (3) started warm favourite and just got the job done on debut seven weeks back over 1200m at Gosford. Kept fresh and should cope with a deeper field today. SHARPEN THE KNIVES (10) returned in good order at Armidale recently. Beautifully drawn and can hold that form.
