EL QASABI (2) ran a solid third as the favourite when resuming over 1100m at Wyong a fortnight ago, finishing on strongly. The drop back to 1000m won't be a problem, and he looks ready to break through. BLUE SUEDE HOOVES (1) resumes from a spell that would have done him the world of good, and he looks to be on target for a big run fresh after winning a recent Wyong trial comfortably. Check the markets. MRS FLANDERS (13) was unplaced two runs back but then improved quickly with a good effort last start, finishing runner-up over 1000m at Hawkesbury, less than 2 lengths from the winner. She is well placed to go one better. AVON CALLING (12) returns from a spell after an eighth over 1000m at Warwick Farm as a juvenile. She looks in good shape after a recent trial win, and she should be competitive, despite copping a wide gate. BEDDA MIA (10) has gone close in her last two, the latest a third over 1200m at Bathurst, and even in a tougher field, she can figure in the top 3 again.
