Open but hard not to like the debut run of VAIN CHAMPAGNE (10). Was well in the market and sat close to the leaders before knuckling down strongly to finish runner-up. Has since jumped out well. Has upside and should go close again. BETONME (2) ran above expectations fresh when placed at Werribee over 1000m. Looks to have come back very well, fitter again and is capable of another bold performance. GOOD ONYA DARL (3) is edging towards a win, the latest fourth here in a similar race when tries to lead throughout. Will give a sight again. AMARA VALENCIA (1) returns from a break and did run well, albeit in fourth, when last resuming in tougher than this. Fitter for two jump-outs and can feature on best figures. PINERO (7) ran on well to finish runner-up in easier fresh but was a good effort and can only be further improved. Solid chance with a repeat here.
