OUTER FOCUS (4) was a tough winner second up in his penultimate start at Otaki, and then was gallant in defeat when finishing third there 11 days ago. He cops a decent gate back on his home track here and is capable of taking it out. ZANZIBAR (3) has been very consistent this prep and has been runner-up in 3 starts around his maiden win second-up on this track. He gets a superior gate this time, and with Jonathan Riddell back in the saddle, he will be among the hardest to beat again. INDIAN GOLD (1) produced a big finish out wide for second at Te Rapa 5 weeks ago when resuming from a spell. He is likely to get back again, but with an extra 300m being ideal, he could have the last say this time. JOEJOECCINI (5) was put aside after winning his maiden here over 1800. He resumes from a spell over a mile, and with a couple of trials under his belt, he will be ready to rumble. JAFFIRA (2) has been much better since dropping down to this grade in his last couple of starts. Include again.
