CASTILLIAN (6) has recorded a couple of big wins back-to-back, taking a sit two back at Doomben then leading from the outset at Ipswich a fortnight ago in a Class 6. In career best form and despite an awful gate he can get the job done again. RED DEFCON (14) has been tackling stakes races without success through the carnival. Capable performer at this level and she loves the Sunny Coast so a big form reversal is on the cards. DEEP RESPECT (12) was snagged back then wound up late to finish fourth behind Castillian at Ipswich recently. Can close the gap somewhat on this roomier circuit - shame about the wide gate though. NORTHERN DECREE (13) caught the eye in the closing stages when resuming over 1200m at Eagle Farm last weekend. Will be tough to hold out over an extra furlong. Distance specialist TOESONTHENOSE (7) will be better for the run but can sneak into the money while fresh.
