First goalscorer/anytime goalscorer tips

We’re siding with some of the top six’s best on Saturday afternoon as the Premier League’s front men try to hit the target.

We have already picked out Premier League predictions for all 10 top-flight games and now have chosen four selections from the goalscorer odds which can be combined in an acca at over 82/1.

First goalscorer

Harry Kane (Tottenham) vs Manchester United

Following an unsettled summer where Kane’s Tottenham future was widely discussed, it has been a slightly underwhelming start to the season for the England skipper.

The three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner has only scored one goal in the top-flight this term, which is nowhere near the lofty numbers expected from one of the most recognised strikers in the game.

However, a Manchester United defence lacking Raphael Varane and fresh from a 5-0 hammering off Liverpool could be just what Kane needs to flex his muscles in front of goal.

The 28-year-old grabbed a brace in Tottenham’s 6-1 victory at Old Trafford last season and has scored six in 15 appearances against the Red Devils.

Tottenham supporters will also take plenty of heart from the six goals he has scored in European and cup competitions for Spurs this season and Kane is too good a player for the tide not to turn shortly.

He is sure to get plenty of chances against a lacklustre Manchester United back-line and it would be no surprise to see the England international add to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s woes as one of our first goalscorer tips.

Phil Foden (Manchester City) vs Crystal Palace

Having shone brightly once again with a brace against Brighton last weekend, we’re backing Foden to find the scoresheet against the Seagulls’ bitter rivals.

Foden has dazzled in recent weeks as Pep Guardiola has utilised the forward-going youngster in a free-roaming central position.

He is linking up well with fellow England starlet Jack Grealish and Brazil’s Gabriel Jesus as the lack of a target man is proving no problem for the thriving Citizens.

City clinically destroyed a Brighton defence that had only conceded five goals before Saturday’s clash and it is hard to imagine the Palace back-line will be relishing the trip to the Etihad.

We fancy Foden to add to his tally against the Eagles and he is 9/2 to open the scoring as one of our first goalscorer tips.

Mo Salah (Liverpool) vs Brighton

It is hard to ignore the form of the Egyptian, who is central to all of Liverpool’s attacking ventures at present.

The 29-year-old already has 10 Premier League goals for the season and has scored in 10 consecutive games in all competitions for the Reds.

Mo Salah, Liverpool, goalscorer tips

Having slotted home six in his last three, the most important of those to Liverpool supporters will surely be the hat-trick he rattled against rivals Manchester United last Sunday.

Salah was at his imperious best at Old Trafford, taking full advantage of a Manchester United back-line all at sea during the course of a brutal 90 minutes for Solskjaer’s side.

Liverpool will be hoping to get the most they can out of Salah before he leaves for the African Cup of Nations in December and he could make hay against Brighton this weekend.

The Seagulls are an organised unit but are reeling following a chastening defeat from the champions last weekend.

Salah is arguably the world’s form player at present and it is hard to see how Graham Potter’s side keep him quiet. He looks banker material as one of our anytime scorer tips.

Mo Salah to score anytime8/15

Kai Havertz (Chelsea) vs Newcastle

Chelsea ran riot over Norwich last weekend by racking up a 7-0 victory but one man who will be disappointed to not make the scoresheet is Havertz.

Looking at an extended run in the side following the injuries to Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku, the young German will be hoping to put that right this time as the Blues take on another relegation-threatened side in Newcastle.

Having scored against Malmo in the Champions League recently, he opened the scoring in midweek once again, grabbing Chelsea’s goal in their 1-1 EFL Cup fixture with Southampton on Wednesday evening.

Havertz endured a challenging first season at Stamford Bridge last term, only managing four league goals as he struggled to adapt to the hustle and bustle of the Premier League.

However, his form picked up once Thomas Tuchel arrived in the Chelsea dugout and there were signs of real promise towards the end of the season.

He now has the chance to make himself a permanent fixture in Tuchel’s plans and we fancy him to grab a goal against the Magpies as one of our anytime goalscorer tips.
