EDELAK's dam is a half-sister to a winning hurdler and he is a fascinating recruit for the Dan Skelton yard, having shown plenty of ability on the Flat in Ireland this year, most recently landing a Galway maiden with a good deal of authority. Bound to have been well-schooled ahead of this hurdles debut, Edelak shades preference ahead of Treasure Planet, who did the job well at Ludlow on his second start in this sphere. Scarlet Moon also looks promising and merits respect, along with Bibe Mus.

Showed plenty in Flat maidens for Donnacha O'Brien during the spring and confirmed promise of his hurdles debut fourth at Chepstow when bolting up at Ludlow last month. Likely to progress and he looks a useful juvenile in the making.

Achieved a fairly useful level of form on the Flat for John Murtagh, winning a big-field 1½m Galway maiden in decisive fashion when last seen in July. Subsequently gelded and, having joined a top jumps yard, he is of strong interest on debut in this sphere.

Flat winner in France and made a winning start over hurdles when taking a 12-runner Gowran juvenile maiden in October. Improvement was not forthcoming when third to the odds-on Mange Tout at Down Royal since, but that form looks all the better in light of the winner's subsequent Grade 3 success.

Four Flat wins this year at up to 1¾m and while his hurdles debut at Sedgefield in October was rather disappointing, he duly left that behind when accounting for 13 rivals in 2m Warwick maiden next time. This is tougher, but he should have more to offer in this sphere and is one to consider.

Reached the frame in 2 Flat outings in Germany and promising start over hurdles for Olly Murphy, winning 3 on the bounce for that yard in August/September. Changed hands for £70,000, but beaten a long way starting out for this yard in a Cheltenham Grade 2 last month.

Fair maiden on Flat for Richard Hannon and made a successful hurdle debut for new connections at Sedgefield, with Scarlet Moon a disappointing third. Backed that up when second at Hereford since, but she arguably lacks the potential of some of these, including the re-opposing Scarlet Moon.

Encouraging debut when finding only the well-backed favourite too good on debut in 16.7f junior hurdle at Bangor, in turn pulling well clear of the rest. Open to improvement, but whether he'll progress sufficiently to mix it at this level remains to be seen.
