The G1 Northerly Stakes and unbeaten 3YO KING OF LIGHT (15) has to go on top. He's been superb through the Guineas and rates similarly to 3YO winners of this race previously. That's a very positive line to draw and his sectionals suggest the rise in trip won't pose an issue. Can continue his winning ways. WESTERN EMPIRE (1) was arguably run of the race in the Railway when carrying top weight. Now third-up and into a more suitable assignment for Egan where he can keep him out of trouble. Meets the Railway runners on better terms here and looks the main danger. APULIA (4) is here for the Perth Cup but isn't out of this on what he's done since returning from injury. His latest trial at Belmont was very impressive and while he's likely to get back in the run, he can be storming over the top late. COSMIC CRUSADER (11) has to be included off a big win in the Carbine Club. DEPTH OF CHARACTER (12) had no luck in the Railway and this is a different set up today. Can be in the finish.
