HE IS THE KISS (10) ended his maiden status at start 49 when he scrambled home two back on the Gold Coast poly. Disappointed under 60kgs on the Sunshine Coast poly subsequently. Has raced seven times on heavy ground for four placings. Drops sharply in the weights and can bounce back. TARTAN TIGER (2) closed well but found the winner a bit too good when resuming over 1300m at Toowoomba last time out. Beaten narrowly on a heavy surface when second-up last prep. Poses a genuine threat. PRESTIGE ICE (6) hasn't been far off the winner at her last handful. The application of blinkers for the first time might add that length or two required. CALVARY (14) shared the lead into the lane but had to settle for second prize again last start over 1550m. Loves heavy tracks and he is rock hard fit so this looks a nice race for him to break an 88-week win drought. Last start maiden winner AMAZIGH TORQUE (8) is lightly raced and capable of going to this next level.
