Nice race to get things underway. GOD'S RAPTURE (3) contested all the big 2YO features last campaign and wasn't disgraced by any means. Her recent trial suggests she's come back as good, if not better and Pike hops on board after partnering her to her only win last campaign. Can resume on a winning note. XENTARO (2) made it two in a row when scoring by 0.5L in a CL1 last week over the 1000m journey. He was strong late there and the rise to 1200m doesn't look an issue. Chris Parnham remains in the saddle and he ticks plenty of boxes on the cusp of a hat-trick. SPLIT THE GEE (4) stuck on fairly first-up down the Pinjarra straight and should be better for that effort. A firmer deck and extra fitness can see her put her best foot forward. EXCESS BAGGAGE (8) was very good on debut and the 1200m journey looks a good move for her. Can go one better without surprising. BRAVE WASP (5) looks ready to go first-up with the blinkers on and is not to be discounted.
