SUPIDO EXPRESS (2) just missed fresh at Bunbury before dropping back to this grade here a fortnight ago. He has early speed and should be nearing his top now third-up into the campaign. Can offset the sticky gate and a return to his best form would see him hard to mow down. PYGMALION (5) won well fresh but never got into the race in a stronger event last start, settling well back and ending up 1.8L off the winner. Whiting remains in the saddle and up to 1200m now looks ideal. Needs a touch of luck but he rates well on his first-up win. BIRD ON A WIRE (4) has had two trials in readiness for her return and the removal of the Concussion Plates suggests they've got her right. The inside draw and 3kg claim is a big tick, and if she can find the front she'll be hard to catch. RIVER ANGEL (6) is some query on the back of a plain trial recently but she does have plenty of upside. Not willing to discount. BOUSSAC (1) is worth including first-up.
