JUST A JOURNEY (7) led for the judge but couldn't hold off a smart one in Tuileries when resuming over 1400m at Warwick Farm last start. Gave away a fitness edge that day so her effort was full of merit. Nicely placed out to this trip and is sure to prove tough to catch around here. EXCLUSIVE ARTIST (8) kept finding to get up for fourth over the mile at Warwick Farm when second-up from a spell recently. Peaked third-up last prep with a big win at Gosford. Her best is good enough. CAPTAIN MAVERICK (1) had a 39-day freshen-up and registered his fourth second in succession when beaten narrowly over this course and distance last time out. McDonald's engagement might be the key. PERFECT PLAY (2) returns from a four-month break. Not a prolific winner but while fresh he is a nice each-way option. ALLAPERCANTO (4) back on a firmer track today can improve on recent efforts.
