REY MAGNERIO (1) isn't a real 1000m specialist which is a slight knock but he has won at the trip and the only 'miss' came when fourth to the speedy Midwest in a $500,000 race before a spell. First up last time in he won the G2 Rubiton around here and his overall form in these sorts of G3/G2 sprint races is excellent. Rates highly for this. ARABIAN SUMMER (3) has been good in two runs back, getting the right run but closing off well for third in the G1 Moir fresh, not having much room in a good race last week won by Giga Kick. Back to 1000m is arguably even better for her. NADAL (2) has been scratched multiple times as the stable looks for soft ground, which appears unlikely. If here, his best is absolutely good enough. SGHIRRIPA (4) resumes. He's a good sprinter on his day who ran well in a G1 Oakleigh Plate here fresh last campaign. 1000m suits. ZEALOUSLY (7) is way up in grade but ran fast time at Warwick Farm fresh and drops 1kg off that. Can measure up.
