Doncaster

Today, FlatClass 16fHeavy

If she reproduces the form of her close-call in a Group 3 at Ayr last month LAM YAI will prove a tough nut to crack. She clearly relishes plenty of cut in the ground and can again get the better of Figjam, who was a highly creditable fourth in that Ayr race and has since opened her account at Leicester. Spanish Waltz brings a positive profile to the table and his cosy Pontefract maiden success was gained on soft ground, but the otherwise appealing Boston Dan appears suited to a quicker surface.

Winner at Carlisle on second start in June and since acquitted herself well in better company, pulling clear of the rest (including Figjam who was back in fourth) when collared close home in the Firth of Clyde at Ayr (6f, soft). Sets the standard on that evidence.

Useful colt who deservedly opened his account in a Hamilton maiden last month. Struggled in the Rosebery at Ayr next time, but subsequently took a step firmly back in the right direction when runner-up in the Rockingham at York (6f, good). Solid each-way chance if coping with conditions.

Beverley maiden winner in August and added to her tally in a 5f nursery at Musselburgh (good) last month. Has followed that with even better efforts in defeat, finishing third in the Rosebery at Ayr (6f, soft) and then sixth of 15 back at 6f in Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy. Place possibilities.

Confirmed debut promise when taking a 6-runner Pontefract maiden (6f, soft). That wasn't much of a race, but he did the job well and is in very good hands to go on improving.

Chased home Boston Dan on debut at Hamilton before posting a terrific effort in the Group 3 Firth of Clyde at Ayr where she put in good late work to finish fourth. Made it third time lucky when recently landing the odds in a Leicester novice (6f, good to soft) and she's another each-way player.

Off the mark at the fourth attempt when seeing off 5 rivals in a Chester novice (6f, soft) last month, but this is a far more demanding assignment.

    Verdict
Perfect start when winning 7-runner Brighton maiden (7f, soft) last month. Failed to build on that when third under a penalty upped to a mile at the same course next time and while this drop in trip is potentially a good move, he looks up against it at this level.
