FROZEN TIDE (6) was excellent late when resuming here over 1400m, just missing after giving away a start. Strips fitter and the step to the mile looks ideal. Hard to hold out. FONN POWER (3) broke through at Kyneton last start and did it with determination. Lightly raced with upside and well placed to go on with it. CARING LASS (10) improved into third at Gawler over 1700m and her best figures give her a genuine chance. LICHESTER (9) has been freshened since a below-par run at Mt Gambier but has jumped out well in the interim. Capable of sharp improvement. WILLIAMSTOWN (1) hasn’t fired this prep but finds a thin race and could easily lift. Keep safe.
