Tricky little sprint. ROYAL INSIGNIA (11) might be the one with the improvement and upside to take this out. He's always promised a fair bit and hit the line well along the inside which probably wasn't the place to be first up at Caulfield. Fitter for that, he's got a sharp turn of foot that should be suited to the Flemington straight. ARKANSAW KID (4) did beat Royal Insignia home on that occasion and was good to the line again in the G3 The Heath last start. He won this race impressively last year and gets in very well with 56.5kg considering. STAR PATROL (5) resumes off a long, injury enforced spell. He won this in 2023 and has some strong figures down the Flemington straight. The late betting will be key to how forward he is. CORNICHE (7) had excuses offered after a poor run second up at Randwick but could be an improver. AIRMAN (2) resumes with a strong fresh record off a dominant trial win and gets McDonald aboard.
