Verdict
The Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes sees a select field of six headed by champion mare VIA SISTINA (5). The reigning horse of the year showed she was back as well as ever with a strong win in the Winx Stakes at Randwick, getting through the heavy ground well. She'll be even better suited on top of the ground and while beaten in this race last year off a similar set up, her best is something these can't match. MR BRIGHTSIDE (1) has won this two years in a row, relishing the conditions to run down Pride Of Jenni last year. His return behind Treasurethe Moment was typically strong and he likely leads this with no pressure. ANTINO (3) was better than it looked in the Memsie first up and getting to a mile suits. Will Shinn look to take off early as he's done before? AELIANA (6) was excellent testing Via Sistina in the Winx. The sky's the limit with her although a sit and sprint might not suit her stamina as much. TOM KITTEN (2) missed the Memsie but has the ability to mix it with these.
