Very few of the locals have much real staying form so paves the way for the Victorian ZIRYAB (5) to find a feature win. Freshened since a solid run in the Pakenham Cup over 2500m and city form prior was good for this. Looks hard to beat. BANK MAUR (1) has good ratings for this but over shorter distances. From the mainland in the Laming yard made Tassie debut with a third in the Inev Stakes over a mile. The stable obviously think he'll run the trip and off the low draw gets every chance. WINEGLASS BAY (2) is coming off a third placing at Longford last time but interestingly is unbeaten from three runs this circuit. At top now and can measure up. ASVA (3) is in great form in easier company, the latest coming from well back to score over 1800m on the synthetic at Devonport. Winner here over 2020m the start prior and should run the trip right out. BLONDE STAR (11) was a close-up fourth behind Asva. First try at the trip but goes very well here.
