MOOCHI STARLIGHT (1) is resuming from a break after three-and-a-half months and should be up for this after placing in two recent trials. Closed last prep with four straight minor placings and may be ready to go to the next level this time in work. BITTER SPIRIT (3) made up considerable ground in the run home to finish second last start over 1050m at Rockhampton when second-up from a spell. Honest gelding who draws a nice gate and should be cherry ripe at the third run back from a break. JOHN'S ROAD (7) has been freshened up since he led but was overpowered late at this track and distance six weeks ago. Drops sharply in the weights under today's scale. Can cross from the wide gate and give them something to catch. RED ENVELOPE (4) has not raced for almost a year and has switched from Waterhouse/Bott to the Peter Fleming stable. Not a lot of form to go on - watch the betting. VIVA LA JUICY (6) is better than her first-up effort at Ingham suggests.
