CAPO STRADA (3) enjoyed a five-week freshen-up prior to this last start success over this course and distance, taking charge a long way out then digging deep. Steps up to open company but drops a huge 6kgs so he is a leading contender again. DIVINE PURPOSE (2) lines up for the first time since taking out an open handicap over the mile at Rockhampton two months ago. Good fresh performer who finds conditions to suit so a strong return looks on the cards. NORTHERN PRIDE (1) continued his outstanding run of recent form when beaten narrowly over 1300m here recently. That followed a one-month break so he can improve on that run. STRATHCONA (5) won two back at Home Hill but was a shade disappointing last time at Ingham. Drops to the limit and can improve. MOKTAFFY (6) is another down in the weights with top four aspirations.
