Interesting race. DESERT LIGHTNING (4) has a couple of key advantages here. He's had the benefit of a lead in run, trying hard in the G2 PB Lawrence Stakes behind Private Eye, boxing on gamely for second. That should have brought him on nicely, and while drawn wide, he has the speed to push forward in a field littered with stayers who are likely here for a poke around. ZARDOZI (13) is the interesting one. She's incredibly well weighted here with 55kg given her ability as an Oaks winner and multiple G1 placegetter since. Now with Ciaron Maher, it's tricky to know if she'll be sharp enough first up off two so-so trials. MOIRA (6) was good in the Lawrence behind Private Eye & Desert Lightning, making solid ground late. Not sure where she gets to from the wide gate but she's come back well. ANISETTE (8) was okay in the same race, good very late there. She can improve as well, as can ATTRITION (2) out of the same race although he has the most ground to make up.
