CHAMPAGNE CRUSADER (5) was expected to win in stronger grade at Pinjarra but didn't fire on the heavy track. He'd followed his Maiden win with a 2L defeat at Belmont prior, and that reads well for this. Well-placed with the 3kg claim and this is winnable with average luck. GIRLS ON FIRE (9) was only beaten 1.7L at the back of her initial preparation and followed the second-up Maiden win with a nose defeat at Bunbury this grade/trip. Peaks now, and Chris Parnham stays in the saddle. She's likely to position forward and is a decent chance to bounce. THE LUCKY CHIP (4) has been busting to win and draws an inside barrier today. He hasn't won for a long while but can't be ruled out in this contest. GINGERS SISTER (6) resumed in solid order at Belmont and can run out the longer sprint this time around. In the mix with the extra fitness.
