CONFECTIONIST (7) won a trial before finishing her run off boldly for third on debut at Taupo nearly 3 weeks ago. She is likely to settle back from another wide gate, but the extra 100m will suit her. On this time. COSMIC DREAM (8) was an easy winner of her only trial at Te Awamutu earlier in the month, and should hold her position early on from a handy gate. Hard to beat. Watch the market moves closely. STAYINTOUCH (11) was a beaten favourite on debut in her only start as a juvenile, and was put aside to mature. She resumes with a couple of quiet trials under her belt and will be a lot more competitive here. Follow your money. RIOJA (10) has continued to improve at the trials, and makes her debut off the back of a big trial win near the end of August. She might find 1200m too short, but her stable knows how to get them ready. GOTA HUNCH (1) tried hard on debut at Avondale on a very testing track. He will naturally improve second up, and has the draw to be prominent.
