LANDLOCK (1) battled on some unfavourable wet tracks in 2 starts earlier in the season, and was put aside to wait for some better weather. He looked close to his best when winning a recent trial, and he is good enough to take this out. L'AIGLE NOIR (4) resumed from a spell, and won by over a length after starting from a wide gate. He has the pole position, and even in a deeper field, he can still figure in the top 3 again. TO CAP IT ALL (11) failed to fire on a track that was too heavy at Riccarton 3 weeks ago. He drops back from G1 level and is worth another chance in this. THAT'S GOLD (6) put it all together when posting an overdue maiden win at Te Aroha 10 days ago in what was a very handy field. He has a lot more to offer, and can measure up at this level as well. YAMATO SATONA (3) won as expected on debut at Arawa Park in heavy ground, and then was a brave runner-up in a decent field at Tauranga 3 weeks ago. Stick with him on an each-way basis.
