A quality field of 3-year-olds will race over 1200m in the Listed Canterbury Belle Stakes, and BELLE DU MONDE (4) was well ridden to score fresh up here over 1000m 2 weeks ago. The extra furlong is ideal. She is one of the early favourites for the G1 2000 Guineas later in the spring, and she can repeat the dose. COOL AZA RENE (1) led up and gave a great sight before being run down by her stablemate and top pick last start when resuming from a spell. She is the likely pacemaker again and should take some pegging back. MISS STARLIGHT (3) remained unbeaten with a short-head win on the poly track here fresh up just over 5 weeks ago. She has plenty of scope and can measure up at this level as well. BONA SFORZA (2) was an upset winner of the Welcome Stakes on debut, and has been kept on ice since then. She has been trialling nicely in the North Island, and adds to the puzzle fresh up. BEST ROSE (6) is a promising filly from the top Walker/Bergerson stable who will improve with racing.
