VIVACIOUS (4) was very disappointing fresh up here 2 weeks ago in the hands of a 3kg claiming apprentice over 1200m. She steps up to a more suitable trip now, and more importantly, she has Opie Bosson in the saddle here. A form reversal is on the cards. LORD WEYBURN (7) made a long run and tried hard when finishing second at Ashburton 8 days ago. He will be spot on for this third start from a new stable, and his next win is not far away. TOA HAKA (5) had no luck from a wide gate at Timaru a month ago, and will start from a handier draw this time. Joe Doyle replaces an apprentice, and he can bounce straight back into the money here. SHOW PONY (2) is a very promising gelding who is a lot stronger this season, winning twice and finishing second in his 3 starts this prep. He has a good draw and will give his rivals plenty to think about again. ON THE TOWN (11) flew home to score by a nose at Ellerslie 3 weeks ago, and that sort of form will more than measure up here. Stick with him.
