JAFFA (9) was made the favourite here last time out off the back of a big run for fourth fresh up at Ashburton. While she only finished fifth that day, she did get shuffled back on the inside and then ran on too late. She can stay out of trouble from a wide gate this time, and she should be very competitive. STEAL MY THUNDER (11) got clear galloping room too late at Tauherenikau 11 days ago, and hit the line with real purpose over a mile. Craig Grylls has a good record on this mare and returns to the saddle, so stick with her. Can win. BOOMTOWN BOY (2) was doing his best work late over a mile at Trentham on a heavy track last time out, and will enjoy getting back out to a longer journey here. As long as there is some cut in the ground, he will be thereabouts again. Include. HE'S A BATTLER (1) hails from the Suzy Gordon stable, who has a terrific record on this track when trekking her team South. Watch closely. CHAPINTEEL (8) has had excuses recently and can not be underestimated.
