Verdict

HELLO BESS (10) was a poly track winner here on debut, and then was sixth at Timaru second-up when just peaking late on a wet track. She has plenty of upside and looks to be well placed in this. On top for us. DRAGON BISCUIT (2) has been having no luck with his draw since finishing a bold third fresh up at Cromwell in November. He cops another wide gate here, but the big, roomy track here does suit him. Stick with him. PIZARRO (1) bolted in on the poly track here nearly 6 weeks ago in only his second start in the South Island for a new trainer. He can secure the run of the race from a good draw, and with only 2.5kg more to carry in the same grade, he can repeat the dose. THE FED EXPRESS (7) was an easy winner on debut in the spring, and then was third at Ashburton in a decent field after leading up. He has plenty of scope and can go on with the job this year. HOLDEM (3) blew out fresh up at Timaru and will improve quickly with the run. She slides down in class. Each way.
