RUSSIAN SUMMER (9) ran on strongly but just failed to pick up the winner last start over 1250m at Cairns. He's back to his best and draws a decent barrier here. Hard to beat in a suitable race. SUPER TWENTY THREE (14) brings a nose defeat here in a 55 and keep Wiggins. Tumbles in weight and that brings him right into it. NOLAN (1) resumed in good order placing here over 1000m. He's drawn the rail and is proven second-up. Gets Butler for the 3kg apprentice and fitter he can be in the finish. HOT TORQUE INVEGAS (12) races forward and spiked his figures winning in easier at Mackay. Carries 3kg less and would be a hope holding the form.

Previously second-up got back early 6th of 11 at Canterbury 4yo+ Bm72 on June 18 over 1200m, slow going 2 len behind Denman Star with 58kg at $31. Will need this run.
